Sviluppumbria’s shareholders approve 2020 balance sheet

30 June 2021

The ordinary Shareholders' Meeting of Sviluppumbria SpA, the in-house economic development agency of the Umbria Region was held today.

The shareholders approved the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2020 with a positive economic result achieved despite the difficult external conditions due to the pandemic and a heavily negative (-850,000 euros) forecast 2020 detected as of September 30, fully recovered by the new governance in the following three months.

"The economic and financial stability of the Agency is the prerequisite for implementing the new three-year business plan approved by the shareholders on March 26th, which gives Sviluppumbria a central role in relaunching the competitiveness of the regional production system,” said the President of Sviluppumbria Michela Sciurpa.

“The budget of Sviluppumbria, which closes 2020 in profit, reflects the hard work of the management and all the staff of the Agency that has proved ready to provide professionalism and expertise to address new inputs and new challenges. My heartfelt thanks for the trust shown go to President Tesei and the entire Regional Council. Today Sviluppumbria is a totally renewed agency, which consistently increases the quantity and quality of services offered to businesses and the territory, while rationalizing expenses with a view to a constant spending review. Communication and listening to the needs of public and private stakeholders, networking and co-planning are the values that have enabled the agency to establish a new collaborative relationship with its members, stakeholders and the entire community, for whom it has once again become a useful and credible interlocutor. Sviluppumbria is taking on an increasingly receptive and proactive role in implementing the economic policy guidelines of the Umbria Region, working in synergy with other regional agencies and with the entire ecosystem of local economic development.

“The intense work carried out in recent months,” concluded Sciurpa, “including a new organizational model, allows us to adequately address the upcoming challenges. From this point of view Sviluppumbria has already activated an internal Task Force which, on the indications of the Region, will be dedicated to the implementation of the projects foreseen by the PNRR. In addition, it is activating an innovative collaboration with counterparts of the Marche and the Abruzzo Regions on areas of common interest such as innovation and technology transfer, ecological transition, tourism and territorial marketing".
