Promoting Umbria to the German-speaking market

25 May 2021

Germany is one of our region’s most important markets for tourism. As summer holidays approach, Sviluppumbria, in cooperation with ENIT, the Italian National Tourism Board, is promoting our region to German-speaking travellers in several ways.

  • By podcast: a radio journalist visited Umbria in May, interviewing cycling and excursion guides to focus on outdoor activities in the Monte Cucco Regional Park, the Monti Sibillini National Park, the Spoleto-Norcia cycleway, and other cycling routes.
  • In a printed book: a writer will tour Umbria in June, visiting many attractions and destinations and enjoying active outdoors experiences as research for a new guidebook in German to our region.
  • As a magazine article: Sviluppumbria prepared a list of child-friendly activities for the Austrian magazine Woman (reaching about 280,000 readers). Ryanair offers flights connecting Vienna with Perugia’s San Francesco d’Assisi airport.

Working with ENIT and journalists to present the attractions of Umbria to foreign markets is part of the tourism promotion work entrusted to Sviluppumbria by the Region.
