Following what appeared on the institutional website of the Municipality of Terni we have to make some clarifications for the inaccuracies reported.
Sviluppumbria has three offices in the territory: Perugia, Foligno and Terni. The latter has 3 different owners and namely Invitalia Partecipazioni, the Municipality of Terni and the Province of Terni, which have entrusted the management of the lease of the property to Sviluppumbria. In spite of itself, a few months ago, Sviluppumbria received termination from Invitalia Partecipazioni with a request to return the property. In the part owned by Invitalia, 23 Sviluppumbria staff and 3 companies operate. We took immediate action to inform the Umbria Region, a large majority shareholder of Sviluppumbria, which promptly assisted us by making itself available to find the solution, which has already been identified. At the same time, Sviluppumbria communicated as of obligation the withdrawal to the other owners (date of the registered letter 13 October 2023) that is, the Municipality of Terni and the Province of Terni in whose spaces are housed another 8 companies that we have constantly assisted with our services in recent years. In fact, routine and extraordinary maintenance of the building and contracts for utilities have always been the responsibility of Sviluppumbria.
Never did we expect to have no response from the owners to our communications, and so we advised the hosted businesses to contact the owners directly to begin to define, again with our support, new contractual arrangements to be able to easily continue their business activities there. Only yesterday, the Municipality of Terni, instead of contacting Sviluppumbria directly again, as we have repeatedly requested, thought to write publicly that Sviluppumbria "evicts businesses" and even "puts start-ups in difficulty." Nothing could be falser and more instrumental. On the contrary, our availability is maximum, as we have always pointed out to businesses, owner entities and employer associations in the province of Terni where since 2020 our activity and presence have strongly increased. We consider ourselves surprised (or perhaps not given the election period) that the Municipality of Terni wants to instrumentalize against the regional administration this affair, instead, of responding to the numerous requests for dialogue from Sviluppumbria, as it should have done if it really cared about the businesses present in the facility.
Despite this obvious unwillingness on the part of the Municipality of Terni, the owner of the property and a stakeholder of Sviluppumbria, thanks primarily to the Region of Umbria, Sviluppumbria will continue to provide the Terni community with all the services of information, guidance, assistance, and providing incentives to businesses, families, and local authorities, as we have been doing with continuity and professionalism for many years.
