Sviluppumbria in Tirana from 12 to 15 November

13 - 15 November 2019

The opportunity to share the experiences gained so far in Albania is provided by the second international event of Peer review and matchmaking of the European project BIO-ECOnomy Research Driven Innovation (BIOECO-R.D.I.), led by Sviluppumbria. The event was held in Tirana on 12 November with a series of meetings focused on the role of the public, academic and research sectors, in promoting the development of the bioeconomy in the partner regions of the project and on possible support tools, including financial ones.

Also being presented is the project Product Technologies and Traceability in Albania Protect, co-financed by Cooperazione Italiana, implemented by Sviluppumbria together with the Parco Tecnologico Agroalimentare Dell'Umbria 3 A. The project aims at strengthening the capacity of the Albanian Ministry of Agriculture to enhance local development paths through the quality certification of food supply chains.

A specific session is scheduled to focus on the best practices developed in Albania in the context of the two projects, including discussions between entrepreneurs and experts in the field and specific issues related to woody biomass, olive oil production and the enhancement of the treatment of oil waste.

Finally, the mission will also activate closer cooperation of the Enterprise Europe Network to support future business partnerships between Umbria and Albania. Both Sviluppumbria and the Chamber of Commerce of Tirana (organiser of the Bioeco-R.D.I. meeting) are partners of the network.
