On Friday 23 October, the Official Bulletin of the Umbria Region and the Sviluppumbria website published the Public Notice for the granting of an economic contribution in favour of companies in the land transport sector and the tourism professions.
In the wider context of the extraordinary and urgent measures connected to the Covid-19 health emergency, the Regional Administration immediately took action with initiatives and measures to counter the crisis from an economic point of view by supporting the entire regional business system. With this Notice, starting from 23 October, and until 20 November 2020, at 1.00 p.m., all companies and professionals in the passenger transport and tourism sector operating under Ateco codes 49.31, 49.32, 49.39.09 and 79.90.2 will be able to apply for a contribution to Sviluppumbria by means of Pec at sviluppumbria@legalmail.it.
The compensation awarded per single beneficiary is 1,500 euros for the activities of Transport by taxi, car rental with driver; 4,000 euros for each tourist bus company and 1,500 euros for the activities of guides and tour leaders. The Regional Councillor for Economic Development, Innovation, Digital and Simplification, Michele Fioroni said that this is "one of the measures to support the sector among those most affected by the economic crisis resulting from the Coronavirus epidemic which, although it will not be sufficient to compensate for the losses suffered by the categories, is a concrete sign of the Region's closeness to their workers".
“With this action,” said the Regional Councillor for Tourism, Paola Agabiti, “we reaffirm our attention to the professions, which represent a fundamental factor to strengthen an increasingly accessible, sustainable and quality tourism system. Therefore, supporting workers means supporting a wealth of knowledge and skills that we must preserve and enhance".
Michela Sciurpa, President of Sviluppumbria, notes that "the Regional Agency, in its renewed mission, is close to Umbrian businesses, supporting them from an economic point of view by granting public contributions and providing services to support their growth and business development. Also, with the management of this Notice,” continued Sciurpa, “Sviluppumbria aims to inform and help all Umbrian companies operating in the tourism sector that are facing numerous economic and financial difficulties deriving from the health emergency at an international level".
