Promoting the exchange of bio-economy expertise

On 13 and 14 May, Sviluppumbria S.p.A. will take part in the first international peer review and matchmaking event of the European project BIO-ECOnomy Research Driven Innovation (BIOECO-R.D.I), in Novi Sad, Serbia.

The event aims to promote mutual learning and exchange of expertise in the field of bio-economy and to undertake a critical review of the regional strategies developed in each partner country and the international strategy with the aim of defining a strategic roadmap for bio-economy.

The two days will include a series of workshops on the development of the bio-economy in the project partner regions, on the role of the public sector in supporting the development of the bio-based economy and on possible support tools, such as Green Public Procurement (GPP).

Matchmaking events for entrepreneurs and experts focused on thematic issues of the bio-economy will be held; topics include nanocellulose, the treatment of residues from olive oil production and the enhancement of hemp crops.

The meetings are organised alongside the International Agriculture Fair of Novi Sad, one of the most important in Europe, as evidence of the new horizons that agriculture is striving for in terms of circular economy and energy saving.

Umbria is represented by by Sviluppumbria, leader of the project, and Confindustria Umbria, partner of the project, the Parco Tecnologico Agroalimentare Dell'Umbria 3A and companies in the bioplastics sector.
