The international meeting will preent and dicuss innovative projects, services and territorial processes within the United Nations SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), divided into 169 targets to be reached by 2030. The summit is an important moment of reflection and formulation of proposals leading up to the World Forum for Local Economic Development to be held in Cordoba, Argentina, in December 2019.

The event is promoted and organized by the Cape Verdean Government in collaboration with the United Nations (UNDP),  with ANMCV - National Association of Cape Verde Municipalities, the International Cooperation Agency of Cape Verde. Numerous international and European organisations will also take part, including the Embassy of Luxembourg, the European Union Delegation, the Associations of Brazilian, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese Municipalities and the Executive Committee of the World Forum on Local Economic Development, as well as Cape Verdean institutions and stakeholders, both local and national.

Sviluppumbria's invitation to present the Via di Francesco comes thanks to the effective work carried out by FELCOS Umbria and ANCI Umbria which have signed a cooperation agreement with the ANMCV-National Association of Cape Verde Municipalities.
