Cycle route

To travel from San Giustino to Spoleto, passing through Ponte San Giovanni and Assisi, by bicycle. This is the Umbria Region’s project to create a “network of ecological mobility of regional interest” by combining the routes of the Tiber and Spoleto-Assisi cycle routes. It will be discussed tomorrow in Assisi in order to be able to start the planning phase. At the moment there are two cycle routes in operation: from San Giustino to Ponte San Giovanni, about 80 kilometres, and from Assisi to Spoleto, about 50 kilometres. The project plans to continue with the construction of a further section, from Assisi to Ponte San Giovanni, which would allow these two important routes to be put in continuity, defining an easy cycle path of almost 150 kilometres, in a historical and environmental context of great value and sure appeal for cycling tourism.
