Memorandum of Understanding signed between Sviluppumbria and POST - Perugia Officina Scienza Tecnologia

24 April 2021

To carry out joint initiatives for the promotion of scientific, technological and digital culture in the municipal and regional context: this is the goal of a memorandum of understanding signed by the president of Sviluppumbria, Michela Sciurpa, and the president of the Perugia Officina della Scienza e della Tecnologia-POST Foundation (science and technology workshop), Francesco Gatti, during a meeting at the Perugia headquarters of Sviluppumbria.

There are many issues at the heart of this innovative formula of collaboration: promotion and support of entrepreneurial initiatives for young people and women on issues of common interest such as the circular economy and environmental sustainability, support for digitization and development of digital skills among young people and students, virtual promotion of excellence of local SMEs, use of Fablab resources for the creation and prototyping of innovative products, development of corporate welfare plans for Umbrian SMEs with particular regard to the provision of educational and recreational services for young people, national and international promotion of the museum proposal of the Post to increase the attractiveness of the territory.

The goal is to pool the services of the two institutions with the involvement of a wider audience of users: companies, start-ups, researchers, talents, potential new entrepreneurs as well as children, families, tourists and residents. “The development of a territory depends on the ability to team up by establishing virtuous relationships between the world of knowledge and the world of production,” said Michela Sciurpa. “Collaboration with POST represents for Sviluppumbria the possibility to create a synergy with an important protagonist of scientific dissemination and thus strengthen our agency’s commitment to the promotion and dissemination of a real regional culture of innovation and technology transfer in which young and very young people can find increasing space and value.”

“With the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, the POST Foundation intends to collaborate with one of the most dynamic players of the regional system,” said President Gatti. “We are convinced that, thanks to collaboration with Sviluppumbria, results can be obtained that until now did not seem within the reach of the institution. This meeting concludes with the hope of returning to use the spaces of the POST as soon as the health situation will allow, and to succeed in holding the first common event open to the public soon.”
