Umbria Nautical Cluster in the most prestigious hall at METS

22 November 2017

In the nautical sector, the Umbria region has seen growth in 2015, which increased by more than 18% in 2016, and continues with a steady trend.

METSTRADE 2017, the international trade fair for professionals of subcontracting for the boating sector, has ended in Amsterdam.

Umbria excels in several sectors, but few people know that the region has strong expertise in the nautical industry, where the growth recorded in 2015 was strengthened in 2016 with an increase of more than 18% and continues with a constant trend.

With the re-launch of the nautical market, which was also seen during the Monaco Yacht Show in Monte Carlo, renewed interest on the part of traditional markets in the Italian shipbuilding industry has been confirmed.

is summarized for 2016 with a Total turnover in the sector is over 3.4 billion euros (2016). (*) The most important segment is certainly that of the deep sea and yachts and pleasure boats, with a market share of 35.6% and a turnover of 7.48 million euros.

The Italian boating industry, a niche of excellence in the national economy, emerges as the second largest global player in the sector. The Umbrian companies present in the SuperYacht Pavillon, the only pavilion dedicated to the industry of construction of super yachts, have been able to consolidate the excellent collaborations started with the most important Italian and Dutch shipyards and for this reason METS confirms once again its position as an unmissable appointment for the cluster. The support of Sviluppumbria and the Regione Umbria to companies in the region demonstrates the awareness of regional policies of the importance of METSTRADE.

Major stakeholders working with the Umbrian cluster have now found that the Umbria Nautical Cluster is a partner guaranteeing high professionalism, technological innovation, quality and a specialist workforce.

Aginox, Canalicchio, Divania, Officina Meccanica Cicioni, Mariani, Paolini, Rocco Marmo and Sifar welcomed a visit from the Italian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Andrea Perugini, and from Italian Trade Commission of Brussels that, aware of the value of Umbrian companies, are committed to promote and facilitate post-exhibition events to consolidate the relationships established with important players in the sector to METSTRADE.
