Webinar: "Environmental labelling of packaging - Mandatory information and practical cases".

The partners of the Enterprise Europe Network (SME2EUplus consortium), in collaboration with the Turin Chamber of Commerce Chemical Laboratory, are offering a webinar aimed at enterprises in the Marche, Umbria and Tuscany regions to provide an overview of the rules to be followed, examining recent updates on compulsory environmental labelling and giving ample space to practical cases.

Objectives and target audience:

The European Single Market, established on 1 January 1993, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Its creation has enabled the free movement of goods, services, capital and people within the European Union and, through the progressive elimination of technical and legal barriers, European citizens can now move and do business freely. Today, the single market is developing in new areas to meet emerging challenges such as waste management and environmental protection.

One of the issues European businesses are currently addressing is the environmental labelling of products and the proper management of packaging waste at the end of its use. EU Directives 2018/851 and 2018/852 sought to harmonise European legislation and therefore it is now up to the Member States to transpose and implement the EU regulations. In Italy, Legislative Decree 116/2020 introduced from 1 January 2023 mandatory environmental labelling for all packaging released for consumption.
