International trade fairs. New Umbria Region call managed by Sviluppumbria SpA published

Perugia, 04 agosto 2023 -

Perugia, 4 August 2023 - The new call of the Umbria Region dedicated to international fairs was published, Friday 4 June in the BUR (Official Bulletin of the Umbria Region). This measure is part of the broader "Remix" manoeuvre strongly desired by the administration in favour of local businesses. The new call for international fairs, for which total resources of 1M€ have been earmarked, increasable to two million, will make it possible to finance internationalisation projects consisting of several fairs, up to a maximum number of five fairs held both in Europe and in non-EU countries, also including online fairs. The measure is aimed at micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that can participate either individually or as a network. The contribution granted is non-repayable and ranges from 50 to 70% of expenditure, depending on the size of the company and the type of fair, with a higher contribution for those held outside the EU.

Regional Councillor for Economic Development Michele Fioroni said: 'With the publication of this new call for fairs, the Region's support for internationalisation is strengthened. In June, we had published a call for fairs from January to November, an initiative that was recently financed with an additional 400,000€. This new call for trade fairs covers those from September until June 2024 and, within the Remix manoeuvre presented yesterday, there is also a new edition of the Travel call for trade fairs. Companies," concluded the Councillor, "now actually have effective tools at their disposal to grow and expand in foreign markets.”

Applications can be submitted from 20 September until 29 December 2023.

The measure will be managed by Sviluppumbria, whose CEO Michela Sciurpa emphasised that "the Umbria Region's Economic Development Agency confirms its commitment to the internationalisation of enterprises. In particular, trade fairs are still one of the main tools for entering foreign markets, a first approach to export that is also accessible to new exporting companies that intend to start a more structured path.  Hence the importance of the new call for international fairs to support and spread the culture of internationalisation, increase the competitiveness of the regional production system and promote 'Made in Umbria' in the world'.
