On 28 February 2024, regional stakeholders met at offices of the Umbria Region to learn about the territorial analysis and the results of the online survey of SMEs.
The main outputs of the study activities of the project's first year are the completion of an online survey on SMEs' experiences in accessing public funding, and the Regional Analysis. The report was prepared under the guidance of Professor Cecilia Chirieleison from the Department of Political Science of the University of Perugia. The professor illustrated the first results of the survey and some key elements of the regional analysis, highlighting strengths and weaknesses of the Umbrian entrepreneurial ecosystem with respect to institutional communication aimed at accessing public financing. Stakeholders present included representatives from Confindustria, Camera di Commercio dell'Umbria, EuropeDirect, Villa Umbra, Confcommercio, the Umbria Region and the University of Perugia.
Sviluppumbria leads InnoCom, whose partners include the Regional Development Agency of Bucharest-Ilfov (Romania), Latvia University, the Municipality of Ivančna Gorica (Slovenia), the Hauts de France Region (France), Carlow County Council (Ireland) and the Zemgale Planning Region (Latvia).
The Umbria Region partecipates as an associated partner, responsible for the policy PO FESR 2021-27.
InnoCom is cofinanced by the European Union (ERDF) through the Interreg Europe programme with a total budget of 1,511,394 euros for the period 2023-2027.
The technical language used in calls for public funding can be an obstacle to understanding their content and thus to applying for opportunities. The Umbria Region tested innovative means of communicating with SMEs during the COVID emergency, based on a participatory approach, the two-way exchange of information, the involvement of beneficiaries in the development process and the investment in self-explanatory video tools.
