This year as part of the school-work alternation project, Sviluppumbria will guide the students of the Alessi high school in Perugia in drafting a business idea. The theme chosen this year is the circular economy, and the students, divided into 4 groups per class, are already working on developing an entrepreneurial idea. The ideas will be presented to a committee in the form of elevator pitch. After an initial selection, the selected groups will compete for the top prize to be presented at the Salone d'Onore of the Umbria Region.

The students met Monica Tommasi, president of the Friends of the Earth association, who explained the circular economy to the students, supported by experts from Sviluppumbria, who worked on circular economy and industrial symbiosis as part of the Innetwork Programme. Other participants with the Friends of the Earth association are Sviluppumbria and SUN (Symbiosis Users Network), the first platform of industrial symbiosis in Italy.

Luca Bianconi from Polycart Spa spoke at the meeting, illustrating how his company operates in the circular economy.
