The award ceremony for this year’s competition for the best business ideas proposed by students of the of the G. Alessi high school will be held on 16 May at the headquarters of the Umbria Region in Perugia. The business-ideas competition, now in its third year, is part of the school’s legal-economic training, compulsory and preparatory to the paths for transversal skills and guidance.
The students, guided by the school’s faculty by experts from Sviluppumbria, have put themselves to the test, role-playing as young entrepreneurs and simulating some of the phases of a business model.
The teachers, involved the students in moments of theoretical learning and in more properly operational and laboratory moments as extracurricular activities. The students encountered, for the first time, principles and legal/economic concepts preparatory to the development of the various paths for the Transversal Competences and Orientation (formerly the School-Work programme) provided by the school.
Each class was divided into groups of 5 students who presented business ideas with this year’s theme of the Circular Economy.
A panel of experts from Sviluppumbria reviewed about 40 business ideas; the best 12 best compete for the prize on 16 May, with a 5-minute multimedia elevator pitch. A committee composed of entrepreneurs, representatives of the institutions and the school will decide the outcome.
The students behind the winning idea will receive an award linked to the theme of the Circular Economy offered by Sviluppumbria.
