Open Innovation Call for Proposals: projects, enterprises and investments

08 January 2020

The wide participation of companies and trade associations, in partnership with the University of Perugia and civic and religious associations, confirms the importance of the Living Lab project, which is the result of the activities carried out by Sviluppumbria to raise awareness and involvement.

More than €800,000 in grants were requested toward investments totalling 1.5 M€ in Umbria.

13 projects were submitted involving 16 companies: 13 from the province of Perugia and 3 from Terni. The companies, in individual or aggregate form, presented programmes in the fields of tourism, culture and education, smart communities, the circular economy, the environment and the social inclusion of people with special needs.

This first Call for Proposals concludes the initial phase of an experimental and exploratory process that began in the second half of 2018 with the Umbria Region and the Municipalities of Perugia and Terni, in direct contact with students from university departments and secondary schools, aimed at involving and focusing on the needs of citizens. The Living Lab Umbria aims to encourage the aggregation of "innovation actors" in a collaborative ecosystem, where projects are defined and implemented in line with the strategic objectives for the growth of the region, both in terms of improving the competitiveness of businesses and quality of life in the municipalities of Perugia and Terni.

Users can register and access all information to participate in the collection of needs at the platform www.livinglab-umbria.it. Every citizen can contribute to the debate by sending ideas and proposals for which innovative solutions will be sought thanks to the new calls planned for 2020.
