The European Commission has launched the second edition of the New European Bauhaus Awards. The New European Bauhaus is the initiative launched in 2020 that combines design, sustainability and accessibility to help realise the European Green Deal.
It promotes a new way of life in which sustainability goes hand in hand with aesthetics to accelerate the green transformation in various sectors of our economy, society and everyday life.
Prizes will be awarded to innovative projects and ideas that contribute to the creation of beautiful, sustainable and inclusive places in four categories, reflecting the four thematic axes of transformation envisaged by the New European Bauhaus:
- Getting back in touch with nature;
- Regaining a sense of belonging;
- Give priority to the places and people who need it most;
- Building a circular industrial ecosystem and supporting life-cycle thinking.
For each category, 2 parallel competition sections are established:
A. New European Bauhaus Awards, dedicated to existing projects completed within the last two years;
B. Rising Stars of the New European Bauhaus, dedicated to concepts or ideas presented by young talents aged 30 or under.
