Umbrians abroad

Since 1973, when the first regional law on the subject was approved, the Umbria Region has recognized an essential component of the Umbrian community in the communities those living abroad.

With the Regional Law n. 37 of 20.11.1997 “Discipline of the interventions in favour of the migrant workers and their families” establishing a series of actions are foreseen aimed at developing the economic, cultural and social ties with the Umbrian people living abroad and the Regional Council.

As a continuation of the work that the Umbria Region and Sviluppumbria have been carrying out for many years, various initiatives dedicated to Umbrians living abroad will be organised. In particular, events are planned in Canada and Australia.
