Umbria in Turin for "Aerospace & Defense Meetings"

The most important international business convention internazionale in Italy for defense and the aerospace industry.

From 28-30 November, Umbria Aerospace Cluster with the support of the Umbria Region and Sviluppumbria is sending a delegation of companies to participate in Aerospace & Defense Meetings, the most important international business convention in Italy for the aerospace and defense industry. Now in its ninth edition, the event is organized in the Oval Pavilion of the Lingotto convention centre. In the previous edition, the event was attended by more than 600 companies from 30 countries and 1,600 participants who held more than 8,000 b2b meetings.

The best of aerospace made in Umbria at an international matchmaking event between companies and foreign operators.

On 30 November, the Strategic Positioning Document of the Cluster, was presented, an interdisciplinary study useful for ensuring public and private stakeholders a strategic vision of the competencies and capabilities of member companies, trends and opportunities in the aerospace market, aerospace Esg, and funding opportunities in research and development. The presentation of the document, which contains strategic directions for the future of the regional aerospace sector, was an opportunity for discussion among Daniele Tonti, President of Umbria Aerospace Cluster, Cristina Leone, President of National Aerospace Technology Cluster, Michele Fioroni, Councillor for Economic Development of the Region of Umbria, Michela Sciurpa, CEO of Sviluppumbria, Luca Mastrogiacomo, Professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin, and Cillian Fani O'Broin, Secretary General of Umbria Aerospace Cluster.

During the morning institutional visit, Regional Councillor Michele Fioroni and CEO Michela Sciurpa met with Umbrian entrepreneurs present at the fair.

“Sviluppumbria, thanks to the Innetwork 22/23 project,” said Dr. Sciurpa, “has contributed to the realization of the strategic document by focusing on issues related to innovation to increase the competitiveness of the Cluster and the internationalization capacity of the entire supply chain. A virtuous interaction between the world of knowledge and the world of production, an excellent result for the strengthening of the Umbrian ecosystem."
