UmbriaLibri returns to Terni from 6 to 8 December 2024 with "Scritture d'inverno" (Winter Writing)

With Scritture d’Inverno (Winter writing), UmbriaLibri returns for its last event of the year. UmbriaLibri is the Umbria Region’s cultural event with organisation by Sviluppumbria s.p.a. and artistic direction by Angelo Mellone. It takes place in Terni from 6 to 8 December with three days dedicated to meetings, debates and performances with writers and guests from the world of culture and entertainment. It will take place in the bct - the Terni municipal library, which has been chosen as the nerve centre of all events dedicated to books.

The Festival, whose artistic direction has been entrusted to Angelo Mellone since 2022, has chosen to maintain an active channel with the community and this is why the events of UmbriaLibri have been distributed throughout the year between Terni and Perugia. UL365, in fact, includes numerous encounters that intend to keep the attention focused on books, art, current events and customary phenomena, like a book that never ends, in which culture becomes an uninterrupted reasoning for deciphering our contemporary world.

The well-established dates are those of Perugia in October with Scritture d'autunno and Terni in December with Scritture d'inverno. The festival then expands to include UmbriaLibri Politics which, during the last weekend of January, brings together journalists, politicians, historians and scholars to analyse and debate the most topical issues of our society, UmbriaLibri Love, the special dedicated to love enlivens the centre of Terni, the city of St Valentine's Day, during the most romantic period of the year. Finally, Art Cafè, in May, evokes the atmosphere of a 1930s literary café with two days dedicated to art and the story of artists' lives with writers, art critics and historians analysing the relationship between art and life.
