The first bridle trail is planned along the Via Francesco, a path that is part of the organized network of signposted routes throughout Umbria. The path will be one of the most evocative in our region: the St. Frances way, which crosses Umbria toward the valley of Rieti until reaching the tomb of the Apostle Peter in Rome. Now part of the route will provide all the services necessary to meet the needs of horses and riders: rest and refreshment points and a network of assistance with farriers and veterinary practitioners.
“Umbria is ideally suited for horseback riding. The development of mobility infrastructures will facilitate a sustainable approach to enjoy of our land, rich in history, art, and nature,” said Cristina Giulianelli, part of Sviluppumbria’s tourism promotion team, which developed and created the bridle path in cooperation with the Umbrian municipalities that signed a memorandum of understanding this morning in Perugia.
