Umbria attracting more visitors from France

da umbria24.it In 2019, the Umbria Region will address significant actions to promote tourism from France, in consideration of a substantial growth in numbers of French tourists already in the first eight months of 2018. Compared to 2017, the statistics show an increase in arrivals of 9.5% while overnight stays have grown by 14.2%, with a record peak of increase in March, when there was an increase of 26.3% of visitors and + 47.8% of stays. The President of the Umbria Region, Catiuscia Marini, made the announcement in Paris at a series of initiatives organized by the Italian Institute of Culture, in collaboration with the Region and the Italian Embassy in France.
President Marini, in thanking the Italian Institute of Culture and the Italian Embassy in France, also announced that by early 2019, a French language version of the Region’s official tourism portal, www.umbriatourism.it will be online.
