
Considering the international resonance and topicality of the issues addressed in this official closing of the three-year project, the conference will be opened by Donatella Tesei, Esq., the President of the Umbria Region. Participants will be welcomed by the President of Sviluppumbria, Dr. Michela Sciurpa, followed by a greeting from Dr. Riccardo Concetti, President of Umbria Export, an agency of Confindustria Umbria.
The work will take place over the course of the morning in two sessions.
The first session’s speakers will include the Regional Minister, Prof. Michele Fioroni, who will illustrate the strategies and experiences related to the bioeconomy in Umbria, Dr. Adrian Tistan, DG Research and Innovation - Sustainability - Bio-economy and Agro-industry of the European Commission, and Prof. Fabio Fava, Scientific Coordinator of the National Coordination Group for the Bioeconomy of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, who will illustrate the strategic lines at national level for the bioeconomy.
Dr. Luciano Concezzi, representing the National Agrifood Cluster (CL.A.N), and Prof. Gabriele Cruciani, of the University of Perugia and Chancellor’s delegate for the Third Mission Sector will follow.
The second session will be dedicated to presenting the project results, with the direct involvement of expert speakers from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Greece and Albania. Each will launch thematic proposals with a prospective approach aimed at promoting national and transnational opportunities in the field of bioeconomy, cluster development and market diffusion of biobased products.
