SHARE Project: Study visit in Extremadura

12 - 14 December 2017

Partners of the Interreg Europe project SHARE are meeting this week in Extremadura, a Spanish region with interesting similarities to our own. Like Umbria, Extremadura is a rugged, landlocked, largely rural territory with a wealth of Roman, medieval and other important cultural heritage and religious sites.

The three-day meeting, organized by the Regional Government of Extremadura, includes a session for partners to exchange experiences, with presentations about a case study for using a Roman theatre as a focus for tourism promotion and another on the influence of the Via de la Plata pilgrimage route on the region’s development. Partners will visit cultural heritage sites in the towns of Trujillo, Medellin, Guadalupe and Castuera.

SHARE - Sustainable approach to cultural heritage for the urban area requalification of Europe, is a four-year project led by Sviluppumbria, with partners from Spain, the UK, Croatia, Romania, Sweden and Hungary. Euros.
