Prominent Med Conference in Brussels How to guide public administrations towards the introduction of innovative and green tools in procurement management?

This is the theme of the conference entitled "Creating policy instruments for the support of public procurement of innovation" to be held on 5 February 2020 at the European Parliament (room A5E3) in Brussels, as part of the 11th European Innovation Summit. Hosted under the aegis of the European Parliamentarian Sunčana Glavak and partners the Regional Agency for North Energy, the City of Koprivnica, Sviluppumbria (Umbria’s Regional Economic Development Agency) and Be.Funded, the conference will bring together policy makers, national and regional representatives responsible for national/regional policy instruments for the support of PPIs, EU networks/agencies in the field of public procurement of innovation, public authorities and representatives of the partner countries of the Prominent MED project (Portugal, France, Italy, Spain and Croatia) with the aim to support the use of public procurement of innovation.

This conference will be held in the framework of the Prominent MED project (Public pROcureMent of INnovation boosting greEN growTh in MED area), co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund with the aim to stimulate the development of innovative solutions for energy efficiency. The conference aims to help policy makers, public authorities and other stakeholders to recognise and use the power of procurement for innovation. More specifically, through the presentation of different EU/national/regional policy instruments and projects that support and promote innovation procurement, policies and potential solutions to improve the use of public procurement to promote innovation will be examined. As this event will take place during the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU, we will also have the opportunity to learn about the priorities of the Croatian Presidency related to this topic and innovation in general.
