The Circular Economy Action Plan

The European Commission recently adopted the Circular Economy Action Plan, a key element of the European Green Deal, the new European agenda for sustainable growth. Through measures covering the entire life cycle of products, the new Action Plan aims to make our economy work for a green future, strengthen our competitiveness, protect the environment and give new rights to consumers.

The Plan focuses on design and production for a circular economy in order to ensure that the resources used are maintained in the EU economy for as long as possible.

It will focus particularly on sectors with the highest resource use and having high potential for circularity, namely:  electronics and ICT, batteries and vehicles, packaging, plastics, textiles, construction and food.
