Record exports of knitwear, oil and furniture: +11.6%

The Umbrian economy is driven by exports, in particular the knitwear-clothing, oil and furniture sectors of the upper Tiber valley. All the districts monitored in Umbria have achieved a growth in exports in the period January to September compared to the corresponding period in 2017. Umbria stands out as the top region in Italy for percentage growth of district exports with an increase of 11.6% compared to the national average of 2.0%.
The Unesco recognition of the olive belt with the assstance of Sviluppumbria supports the production of olive oil in the region and the export of the oil products.
