INNETWORK PROGRAMME ERDF ROP 2014 - 2020 ACTION 1.2.1

(Visit the dedicated site: www.programmainnetwork.it)

To help create an environment favourable to innovation in the regional system, through participation in platforms and networks of technological specialization, the Regional Council has entrusted Sviluppumbria with the promotional Program 2016-2020 - "Innetwork 2016/2017".

Innetwork aims to develop an ecosystem able to promote and strengthen interregional cooperation in research and innovation and to promote the application of the results achieved maximizing the impact on the economic-productive system. Through specific actions, the region’s clusters can improve and grow by entering into extra-regional and trans-sectoral collaborations.

Research and innovation are the key to increasing competitiveness on the global market. To exploit its potential, it is necessary to activate processes of technology transfer in a perspective of open innovation. Companies that open up of their own innovation process to the outside world, which allows them to innovate technologies and accelerate innovation, achieve greater competitiveness.

Building a closer relationship between research, institutions and business (the so-called "triple helix"), is the decisive condition for the creation of technological innovation that must then be translated into practice by structures specializing in technology transfer.

On the basis of these considerations Sviluppumbria through the Project Innetwork 2016/2017 will carry out actions of:

  • Support and accompaniment to networking at both national and international levels for technology transfer and the development of operational partnerships between companies, research centres, academic spin-offs, etc., including through the operational actions promoted by the National Technological Clusters to which Sviluppumbria will adhere in formal representation of the Umbria Region.
  • Actions of support and connection with national and EU production chains and regional research in the context of implementing national and EU programmes, through information and support actions, aimed at encouraging the involvement of Umbrian companies and research institutes in national and international projects/partnerships.
  • Support activities to the creation of networks of excellence and innovation in the interregional area in the context of innovation specializations characterizing the territories involved, including through the role that will be played through an operational participation in the National Technological Clusters (Intelligent Factory and Smart Communities).
  • Information and communication actions, addressed to Umbrian enterprises, to raise awareness and involve Umbrian economic actors on innovation issues, including those promoted by the National Technological Clusters, or to inform them about existing technological opportunities in order to strengthen and strengthen the capacity for innovation.
  • Seminars addressed both broadly and to targeted groups of companies on specific issues of particular interest with the involvement of experts and with the connection to technological specialization platforms, National Technology Clusters and technology transfer actions.
  • Accompanying actions with the function of technological intermediation to support companies and the knowledge system in the process of Technology Transfer and in the identification of technological partnerships.

INNETWORK PILOT PROJECT

To help create an environment favourable to innovation in the regional system, through participation in platforms and networks of technological specialization, the Regional Council has entrusted Sviluppumbria with the promotional Pilot Program 2015-2016 - "Innetwork".

The development and competitiveness of national and European territories increasingly depends on the exchange of knowledge and good practices between local and international actors. The creation and continuous implementation of a widespread network system, based on the exchange and exploitation of specific knowledge and know-how, is essential to foster economic recovery and increase the competitiveness of European regions in the long term.

The Programme aims to contribute to regional policies aimed at opening up the territory and local economic and productive players to international and interregional networks, enhancing the exchange of information and knowledge concerning research, innovation and technology transfer. The priority aim of Innetwork is to create an environment conducive to innovation in the Umbrian regional system through participation in platforms and networks of technological specialization.

The animation activities proposed within the Innetwork Pilot Project are mainly related to information, awareness and support activities to seize the opportunities offered to companies in participating in platforms and networks of technological specializations, as well as actions aimed at spreading the culture of innovation by exploring new paths and opportunities thanks to clustering and networking.

FOCUS ON CIRCULAR ECONOMY

The Circular Economy project - with a focus on the theme of Industrial Symbiosis carried out by Sviluppumbria in collaboration with Enea - aims to support local collaboration between companies with a view to sustainable growth and the definition of eco-innovative solutions for reduced demand for virgin raw materials and the disposal of production waste. In the definition of a circular economy, waste from production and consumption processes circulates as a new entry into the same or a different process. In this sense, industrial symbiosis is a form of intermediation to facilitate innovative collaboration between companies, so that the waste produced by one of them is valued as a raw material for another.
